Welcome to PROJECT CONNECT!



PROJECT CONNECT is a semi-annual event that connects individuals & families to free on-site community services, including:
  • children’s & parenting services
  • employment & education
  • financial & legal
  • health and medical screenings
  • housing & food assistance
  • personal (haircuts, seasonal)
PROJECT CONNECT is free – including shuttles, entertainment, and lunch!

PROJECT CONNECT needs around 300 volunteers sharing their time, energy, and knowledge at each event.

PROJECT CONNECT reaches between 600-1000 attendees per event.

Everyone is welcome at PROJECT CONNECT!

The next PROJECT CONNECT will be held on May 8th, 2013 from noon until 4 o'clock at the Kalamazoo County Expo Center. Registration for volunteers and service providers will open soon.

In addition to the service providers' and volunteers time and energy, it costs about $8,000 to produce PROJECT CONNECT including space rental, wireless and electrical, transportation.

$10 translates to over $70 of goods and services - wondering how you can help us?

hold a goods donation drive:

There are a number of items we provide at the events to clients, such as toiletries, food, printed information, clothing.

If your group would be interested in hosting a donation drive, we would greatly appreciate it! Contact Pam Burpee at 269.615.2001 or priresources@haltpoverty.org.

donate cash:

While we have some grant money, we rely heavily on the community to sponsor residents in need. Your $10 donation can leverage over $70 in services and staff time! By making a tax-deductible donation, you will assist with providing these critical services to your neighbors. Donate online using a credit card, or email priresources@haltpoverty.org to request a donation envelope for cash or check.
